my buddy and me

I brought up the idea of doing a home preschool with molly over the summer, and she was just beside herself with excitement that she would get to do preschool!  So, the day school started for the older 2 girls, we started our own preschool at home.  It's not anything super fancy; we work in some preschool workbooks learning the ABCs and shapes, practice spelling her name, count pennies, play some sort of preschool game/puzzle, and do a science project, bake or cook a treat, or do a craft.

Some of the fun stuff we've been doing includes making bird feeders with pinecones, peanut butter, and bird seed.  We hung the bird feeder in one of our many trees in the back yard.

the other day, molly surprised me by writing her name all by herself!  i guess all the practicing is paying off!

We also made chore charts for all the big kids.  this one was jayne's.  richie got a kick out of my illustrations...

we also learned about family and wrote a letter to my grandma, which would be her great grandma, and made a recipe of hers (popcorn balls) from a family cook book that i have.

we've made body part collages, finger painted, blown up a balloon with baking soda and vinegar, and read lots of books.

We do our "preschool" for about an hour during Abby's naptime, so it's just me and my buddy, Molly having one-on-one time.  i love it, and i'm pretty sure she loves it, too.
