I had yet another birthday on Thursday! My awesome friend, Brittany, made me a yummy dinner, and a super awesome oreo ice cream cake! Poor Richie didn't really get to celebrate with us because he's been working pretty much non-stop (except for sleeping for a few hours at night) for the past 15 days straight! He said his supervisor told him one time he got to go on vacation after working 38 days straight. Man alive...Richie wasn't around until later, but the food was awesome, and Brittany is the best! Thanks for making it such a great day for me!

Birthday party fun!
waiting for parents to come after the party, we played outside.
We had Jayne's preschool friends over for a birthday party this weekend! I was so busy making sure the kids didn't get distracted from the task at hand, that i didn't get any pictures from the games or the sundaes that they made! We had an ice cream sundae party where we played pin the cherry on the sundae, hot fudge sundae (a take on hot potato), and we made sand art ice cream cones. the kids got to build their own sudaes and we stuck a candle in jayne's and sang happy birthday! It was a gorgeous day outside, so we got to do most of the activities in the back yard (which was convenient because our living room would have been rather crowded with 10 children in there).

circus!
random people riding the elephant
elephants doing their thing. it's crazy how well trained these animals are!
Lucy enjoying the circus
We took the kids to the circus last weekend. We came across some free kids tickets, and thought we'd take advantage of that. Where they get ya is in the adult ticket prices. Man alive! Anywho, we had a lot of fun, even if we have to sit on rickety ol' bleachers, and the kids kept knocking coats/snack cups on the ground 5 feet below us so richie would have to squeeze under and get them. We especially loved the elephants, even molly, who whenever the elephants appeared, was entranced. I think i would say it was an awesome experience (mostly because the kids don't know any better :D).

try, try again!
Jayne is 4!
4 years ago, today, my Jayne was born! She was the toughest baby i've had, and is still my toughest child, but i love her! I hear that the kids who are tough when they're little are much easier to handle when they are teenagers. lets hope that's true... :D Happy birthday, Jayne!

sleepy baby, beautiful treasure, and those cursed girl scout cookies
I told Lucy I would come have lunch with her at school today, so i got my awesome friend, Brittany, to come and bring her kids to play with Jayne and Molly while i was gone. Molly hasn't been feeling well the past couple of days, and Brittany said she got rather sleepy and laid her down around noon. i'd have to say i would have done the same thing if i was her. especially if this is how sleepy she was:
When my in-laws got back from California this past weekend, they brought this beautiful treasure with them! isn't it gorgeous?! and the best part is, it's OURS! thanks so much for thinking of us, guys!
By the way, i still have a trunkful of girl scout cookies left. anyone want some?
happy birthday dr. seuss!
This week schools celebrated Dr. Seuss' 106th birthday! For Jayne's preschool, the kids got to go to the party they had at the library where The Cat in the Hat read them some Dr. Seuss books, and they got to see a magic show! Lucy's Kindergarten class made hats, and had Dr. Seuss themes for each day of the week. Richie and i tried to get the girls interested in Dr. Seuss months ago, but i guess this week did the trick. Jayne's favorite Dr. Seuss book is "Green Eggs and Ham", and Lucy's is "The Cat in the Hat".

diaper cake!
swimnastics
i enrolled the girls in a swimnastics class for the month of february, and they loved it! they had 30 minutes of gymnastics, and 30 minutes of swimming lessons twice a week. if it wasn't so expensive and so often (more like once a week), i think i'd keep them in it!
snow!
Last Tuesday, we woke up to snow! the girls both got snow days from school, and we went out and played in it (even if it was only for 5 minutes).
