first day of kindergarten

she says she had a good day, but shortly after she got home, she got really whiny and started running a fever. she still had a fever this morning when she got up, so we had to call her in sick on the 2nd day of school! she was feeling better this afternoon, and actually ate some dinner before bed and she wasn't running a fever, so maybe she can actually make it to the 3rd day of school! wish us luck!

playing dress up...

my brother and his 5 year old daughter, eve, have been here visiting from washington state for the past week. it's been a lot of fun having them here, especially since lucy and jayne love playing with her! we've done alot of fun stuff while there were here, but the only thing i took a picture of was when the girls were playing dress up. eve is about 7 months older than lucy, and about 6 inches taller. so, when she was dressing up in the girls' dress up clothes that i already thought lucy was starting to out grow, i really realized just how petite lucy is!

9 months and growing...

i think molly is well on her way to start walking! well, she's still an amateur, but she's learning!

she's 9 1/2 months old now, and i cannot believe that in less than 3 months, she will be 1 year old!

- she loves taking baths with her sisters, and thinks the faucet is the most interesting thing in the world.

-she sleeps through the night, and i know not everyone gets to experience this joy, but it is fabulous!

-she loves finger foods, and eats really well (compared to 3 months ago, when i couldn't even get her to eat anything!)

-she has the most adorable smile! especially with those 2 bottom teeth showing!

-at her last doctor's visit she was 17lbs 6oz and 261/2 inches long. i have no idea how she ranks on any scale or chart or anything, but to me, she's perfect!

this past week, we've been keeping ourselves busy doing all sorts of productive things. since lucy will be starting school in about 3 weeks, the girls and i made a sign to hang backpacks and coats on (once it cools off a bit). i think it's really cute!

today, we painted the girls' room. it didn't really take that long, and it's adorable!

since our garden didn't do well (it died, except for 2 cucumber plants which are doing surprisingly well, thanks to the rain), we decided to plant some pumpkins last weekend. these are a couple pictures of the sprouts. because of the 3 inches or so of rain we've gotten this past week, they are growing really well! i'm so excited, and i hope we have some pumpkins ready by halloween! if all goes well, maybe we'll set up a stand in our front yard and have the girls sell some of our home grown pumpkins!

Richie had his 29th birthday on friday! we spent the day as a family, playing wii, and going to the mall, and to end the day, my mom and dad came and sat with the girls so we could go see the new harry potter movie.
