our trip to san antonio

we took a trip to san antonio this past weekend for Richie's brother's wedding. other than visiting the temple there and their reception, we also visited the san antonio zoo. the zoo is huge. we were there for a couple hours, and still didn't get to see all of it before the girls just got too tired. i did get some pics of the animals, this time, though!

lucy's new swim suit

we got lucy a new swimming suit a couple weeks ago, and she was just so proud of it!

will she ever get the hang of it?

it feels as if jayne might not ever learn to go potty on her own! it's been 3 weeks, and it doesn't seem as though we've made too much progress. she still has accidents in her pull up, and i'm not sure how to get her to stop. i take her potty like every hour, and i guess she is doing better than when we started almost a month ago. it's just so frustrating! it wasn't nearly this difficult with lucy, but then, she was a bit older...
i can't give up now, though!

cars are expensive

i went to get the oil changed and the tires rotated and balanced on our car this morning, and ended up paying almost $200! it turned out that i needed a new tire because the tread was starting to separate. i also needed new windshield wipers since ours didn't wipe anymore. :D it also turns out that we need to replace the other 3 tires soon, as well. how long do tires usually last? atleast we'll be in good shape when we leave for our 3-day drive to washington state this summer. yay for economic stimulus rebates!!!

kids say the darndest things...

so, jayne is definately picking up on things from lucy. it's so hard to stay mad at her for too long when she does something naughty because she's just so stinkin' cute. she had sneezed and needed a tissue, so she gets one, but then comes back in the kitchen to tell me that she's cleaned the table. i can see a wadded up wet tissue in her hand, and i ask her if she used the same tissue she wiped her nose with to clean the table. she tells me yes, and then i ask her if she had dipped that very same tissue in her water cup to get it wet so she could clean the table, and she tells me yes. i ask her why, and her response is "because i love you!"

abilene zoo

we took a trip to the abilene, texas zoo today, and it was pretty eventful. we got lost on the way there. we missed the exit, and ended up driving past abilene and had to turn around and go back. so, after about a 3 hour trip (which should have only been 2), we finally made it to the zoo. the girls had a really good time, and the weather was beautiful. after we were done at the zoo, we played at the nearby park that's called fort imagination. after a couple of hours, we left to go back home, and stopped to have dinner. we got some really cute pics of the girls enjoying their dilly bars, and watching the animals at the zoo. unfortunately, i didn't really get any pics of any of the animals, the camera was malfunctioning, but we all had a really fun, and long, day!

my new hair cut

i got my hair cut yesterday. i was so tired of it because it was so long, and i just couldn't do anything with it. it's so windy here, so all i could do was wear it up or else it just blew in my face. i really like this cut. i'm normally not very happy with the final result, but i was impressed! what do you think? it's a dorky picture, i know...
