my almost done dutch door

This past weekend, we took the girls to the hardware store and got the tools and parts needed to make my Dutch door. Richie pretty much did the work, but didn't get to finish the entire project because he got called in to work on a rig. so, i guess we know what he'll be doing this weekend!

The only things left to do on the door is repaint parts of it, and he's going to add a shelf on the bottom part just under where it opens. it's really nice being able to let some air in, but still be able to keep the baby from wandering out into the back driveway. Richie's the best!!!

our first pumpkin, and a birthday cake

my niece and nephew had a combined birthday party last weekend, and i made them a train cake to go along with their train theme. not too shabby...

i was checking out our pumpkin patch (and showing it to a friend), and noticed our first little pumpkin growing! well, we know we'll atleast get one pumpkin this year! there are so many more flowers, though, that i think we'll get quite a few! i'm so excited!

we went to the zoo with some friends on labor day had a pretty good time! it got kinda hot, but only one person ended up throwing up, so i think it was a really good day! the tiger up there i think got nervous with all the people gaping at him. he kept pacing the same trail over and over.
