The San Diego Zoo

our faces as we were waiting for the bus tour to start. don't we look excited!? well, except for molly, she didn't know what was going on.

they were so excited to see the elephants!

The tour guide told us that the animators for "The Lion King" actually came to their zoo to sketch the warthog for the film. This is the real "Pumba" from the movie.

We love going to zoos, but i need to remember, the smaller the child, the smaller the zoo. This zoo was huge, and had some really awesome animals in it. The girls lasted a couple hours on foot, but we only got to see maybe a 1/4 of the whole thing by then. So, we took a bus tour of the rest of the zoo, and they loved that! Molly slept on my shoulder during the tour, so i could actually look around and enjoy myself. I'd have to say that the bus tour was my favorite part as well...

Balboa Park

The museum was located in this area called Balboa Park. They had a ton of museums there, and had we had the money, i would have loved to go to them all. So, there was this big park there in the middle of balboa park, and on our long trek to where we parked the car, we stopped to play.

The San Diego Natural History Museum

Tuesday, we took the kids to the San Diego Natural History Museum where they had a dinosaur exhibit, and lots of fun prehistoric animal skeletons and statues. The girls really seemed to enjoy themselves here. More so than at Disneyland, I think!

We went to Disneyland on Monday, and all i can say is that the park is just too big. We only got to see maybe 1/4 of it and only rode about 5 rides before the girls were ready to go. We did spend like 6 hours there, but most of the time was spent waiting in lines. Jayne was in a rotten mood and didn't want to ride any of the rides, so richie and i took turns going on rides with molly and lucy while the other one stayed and watched or walked around with jayne.

The weekend we got to california, we went to the santa monica pier and to the beach. It was the girls' first time at the beach, and they had a blast! The weather was forecasted to be chilly, so we thought we would just enjoy the beach without getting wet, but it turned out, the girls had other plans.
