back to school

Jayne: 1st grade  Lucy: 3rd grade

I did not remember to take first day of school pictures.  i remembered that night when they were in bed, but by then the first day of school had come and gone.  so, after some nagging from my mom and sister, i did remember to take pictures this morning.  It's their 5th day of school, but that counts for something, right?  they are loving their new school, too!

blowing bubbles

1 1/2 cups water (there apparently was something on the lens)

1/2 cup dish soap (ours was apple scented)

2 tsp sugar

the kids had fun with these bubbles.  we just used random bubble wands we had laying around.  you could also use a straw and just dip and blow, but the bubbles will be little.  also, a fly swatter works, too, especially if you cut a bigger hole in the center of it.

blowin' bubbles

 havin' a good ol' time

and then miss abby came along...

but that didn't stop these girls

so, this only lasted for maybe a minute or 2 before abby dumped it all out, but atleast the kids could still use the solution that was on the ground, and the back yard smelled like apples!

i love this girl...

fun times

puttin' my head in the lion's mouth (i'm not actually drinking the nasty water from the fountain)

 chillin' at the library

these 3 loved to play board games

We had so much fun with my brother and his fun kids!  I am so glad they got to come to texas to visit for 3 whole weeks, and even got to stay at our house for about half that time!  the kids got along really well, and there was never a dull moment!  We can't wait for the next visit!

the abilene zoo

it was only a 2 hour long drive, but the kids certainly did a lot of this:

(especially these two)

alligator.  can you see him?

we only got part way through the zoo when jayne was just not feeling well enough to keep going.  so, she and i spent a lot of time resting.

 peacock running around loose

she really wasn't feeling well

she really wanted to take the small train ride around the zoo, so she and i waited in line to ride the train while the other guys went to see the rest of the zoo.

 still not feeling too hot

atleast someone had fun!

the Presidential museum and George W. Bush's childhood home
